Path of the Czech Kings:
A historical route around the centre of Prague which the Czech Kings used to take on the way to their coronation. The route leads from Prague Old Town to Prague Castle, the seat of the Czech Kings. The journey will take you across Old Town Square around the Old Town Hall with the famous astronomical clock. The route then carries you across the Vltava River via Charles Bridge one of the oldest stone bridges in Central Europe. The Holy Roman Emperor, Karel IV commissioned the building of the bridge during the 14th century.

Jewish Town:
A walk in the former Jewish town in the historical centre of Prague. The smallest Prague district is named after the Emperor Joseph II, who, by publishing the Edict of Tolerance, earned equal rights for the Jewish populations. The original Middle Age town which was dissolved in the 19th century has subsequently undergone modern development. The only remaining buildings standing today are the 6th synagogue, the Old Jewish cemetery and the Jewish Town Hall. The most significant monument located beside the Old Jewish cemetery is the Old New Synagogue. This construction from the second half of the 13th century is one of the oldest of its kind in Europe..

Prague Old Town:
Prague Old Town is a historical district in the centre of Prague. The area was inhabited already in prehistoric times, however didn't reach its heyday until the Middle Ages. The majority of the landmarks today can be traced back to this period. Among the most significant areas include Old Town Square with the Old Town Hall astronomical clock, the Church of the Virgin Mary before Tyn, Anežský klášter (Anna's Monastery), Prague Estates Theatre, Clementinum as well as other historical houses and churches. Linking up the old town with the other side of the Vltava River is Charles Bridge which dates back to the 14th century. On the side of the Old Town the start of the bridge is marked by the bridge tower.

Prague New Town:
Prague New Town is a historical district within the city. The New Town was established on 8th March in 1348 by the Holy Roman Emperor Karel IV. The most significant place is Charles Square which features a Gothic New Town Hall and the Faust House. The New Town is also home to Wenceslas Square and the National Museum featuring a sculpture of St Wenceslas, the Patron of the Czech territories. In the New Town you also find the prominent transport junction, Prague's main train station.

Lesser Town:
A historical town in the centre of Prague. It is one of the oldest parts of Prague, folding out into the foothills of Prague castle. Back in 1257 Malá strana was promoted to town status. Then in 1541 the area was affected by a fire which destroyed the vast majority of the district. In the years to come a whole range of Renaissance and Baroque palaces were built which considerably changed the shape of Malá Strana and gave it its current character of today. The main landmark in this district is the Baroque church of St Michael located directly on Malostranské Náměstí.

Strahov a Hradčany:
Strahov is a district in the centre of Prague. The Strahov area is home to the Strahov Monastery which is the oldest premonstrate monastery in Bohemia and one of the most prominent architectonic landmarks in the region. Hradčany is a historical district adjacent to Prague castle. There are a great number of palaces and historical houses around the Hradčany area. It is also home to the Archbishop's Palace and the church of Christ’s birth also referred to as Prague Loreta

Prague Castle:
Prague castle lies in the centre of town in the Hradčany district. Traditionally it was the seat of Czech kings however as of 1918 it has been the Prague castle was built in the 9th century and has gradually grown into one of the largest castle complexes in the world. The most prominent construction within Prague castle is St Vitus Cathedral, the first stone for which was laid down in 1344 by the Holy Roman Emperor, Charles IV. The cathedral is also the residency of the Prague Archbishop and contains the Crown jewels of the former Czech kings.

Vyšehrad:
Vyšehrad is an historical fortress built on rocks overlooking the Vltava River. Vyšehrad served as the glamorous headquarters for the first Czech dukes and has been linked with several tales and myths. The castle was in fact built as late as the 10th century. It has been reconstructed several times and in its current form, has been most influenced by the renovation work carried out in the 17th century. Located inside the fortress is the prominent church of St Peter and Paul. Adjacent to the church is the Slavín cemetery where a great many prominent figures in Czech history are buried.
